Takedowns
Remarks
1. Most of our takedowns involve upper body manipulation and foot sweeps. You won't
find too many sacrifice throws or traditional leg takedowns. Those techniques almost
always end up in a ground fight, which you want to avoid, if possible.
2. Our takedowns are meant to keep you in control of the situation. Keep your balance.
Remain on your feet, or in a squat, preferably a sidemount. This makes it easier to go
into a ground and pound. Or detach and stand back up. Let the opponent fall, or
control to the ground and finish, the choice is yours.
3. These takedowns are ideal for multiple attackers. Staying on your feet or in a squat
makes it easier to react to someone else attacking from behind. Get tangled up with a
guy who has some backup, you might wind up getting jumped or even stabbed.
4. Where the head goes, the body follows. (Ancient Chinese Secret)
